Wednesday Hodgepodge

1.  Thursday marks the first day of spring...to celebrate would you rather plant a garden or go for a walk in the woods? Would either of those activities be possible on Thursday where you live?

I would rather plant a garden.

Neither of those activities will be done on Thursday. It wouldn't be impossible walking in the woods, but it would be an unpleasant experience wading through the snow that is still there.

2. When did someone last spring something on you? (or when did you last spring something on someone?)

Drawing a big blank on this one. I'm not a spring something on someone type of person. Since I heartily dislike being on the receiving end, I try not to spring something on others.

3.  We often think of spring as a time for new beginnings. What's something you'd like to start doing this spring?

As much as I like winter I always enjoy being able to start opening windows and letting fresh air into the house.

Daily walks will be starting once the snow has disappeared and the mud it left behind dries up a little.

4. Where do you like to sit in a movie theatre? When did you last sit there, and what were you watching?

I have never been to a movie theater.

5. When you meet someone for the very first time, what do you want them to think about you?

I hope they think I'm friendly. I'm somewhat shy around people I don't know very well and often am at a loss of what to say. Friends, on the other hand, might think of me as a chatterbox.

6. March is frozen food month (yes, really!). Besides ice cream (gotta make you think a little) what's your most often purchased frozen food item?

The frozen food section doesn't get a lot of attention from us at all. The latest thing we bought was tilapia.

7. What's something you avoid?

Topics of conversation .......... politics.
Living things ............ mice and snakes.
Odd things .......... loose pen caps.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Hearing his Daddy come home from work is the favorite part of Buddy's day.

  1. I love the random thought at the end. I adore when I get home and am greeted at the door by two kids charging me like I'm a rock star. It certainly makes me feel loved. They do the same to my husband when he's the one working later - so equal adoration :)

I too am looking forward to more walks outdoors once the weather improves. Cannot wait!

  3. I love your list! I've started my spring cleaning, but it's not as much fun with the windows closed. I'm afraid that by the time we're warm enough for that I'll have lost my motivation to clean, so I'm forging ahead : )

  5. I can relate to you about the spring and garden and the things you avoid. I don't like snakes, I always get angry when it comes to talking about politics and as for loose pen caps, yeah you might as well throw the pen away.

Your little boy is adorable and I love the random thought on it. I brought a smile to me.

    Happy Wednesday.

  7. Awwwwwwwwwww, just look at that smile on Buddy's face. Now, that could melt the heart of a daddy that has had a rough day at work...and probably bring a tear of joy to mama's heart!!

Oh yes...avoiding snakes at all costs!! But, loose pen caps?!! That's a new one on me.

  8. aww what a cute kid! :) When i worked at a preschool it was my favorite time of the day when the kids parents came to pick them up. The drop off, not so much! :(
Anyway i would be too scared of worms or even snakes, they have been around our garden.
    Have a great week!

  12. Thank you so much for visiting my blog post today. I love having new friends stop by. I just had to smile when I saw the picture of your precious son eagerly awaiting his dad's return. It brought back so many memories of two little children running to the door to greet their dad in the afternoons. Those little ones are now 43 and 42. My how times pass quickly.

I am also interested in your Amish past. I know so little of that culture but whenever we visit our son and his family in northern Indiana, we always make a trip to Shipshawana, which is an Amish community. We look forward to each visit. I will enjoy spending more time at your blog reading about this life through your eyes.

Again, thanks for stopping by today and I look forward to getting to know you better.

  19. Thank you for reading my post yesterday and leaving me a nice comment. I can agree with one of the ladies that left you a comment earlier. I live in northern Ohio, not far from the Amish community in Indiana. We love going shopping and eating in Shipshawana.
The picture of your little boy waiting for his father is so precious.
