Checking In

Sitting and looking at a blinking cursor when I know I have only a matter of minutes to be online seems like such a waste of precious time. There are blog posts ruminating in the back of my mind, but those will simply have to wait until some later date.

Buddy is feeling especially miserable the past few days since he somehow picked up the chicken pox. He wants to be held 95% of the time and the other five I'm busy trying to keep him from scratching and picking at his spots.  I'm sure the smattering of spots on his feet adds to the reason he wants to be held so much, he was trying to tiptoe, but even that seemed to be too much. I'm hoping the worst is over and he can start feeling better soon.

It's not fun when children are sick!

  1. Oh chicken pox! I was babysitting for two families at our church back when our children had it. I ended up with 8 children at my home with chicken pox at the same time! I figured they were all sick anyway, they may as well be at our house and their parents could go to work. I would like them all up, strip them to their underpants or diapers and slather on the calomine lotion

  2. I'm sorry this comment was split for some reason. :-( I'll be praying that Buddy will be feeling better very soon.

  4. My eldest caught chicken pox from her sitter's kids, so the sitter said she might as well just keep on coming. I remember the itching when I had chicken pox; it was dreadful. I still have a little "divot" inside my ear from where I dug through the cartilage. Poor baby, he has my sympathy - and so do you!

  7. Poor little Buddy! It's so much harder when toddlers are sick. It must be even harder for you since you don't have a voice. I've prayed for both of you, that Buddy would be well soon and that God will help you comfort and soothe your child without using your voice.
