One of the highlights of every month used to be when the mailman delivered our latest issue of the Family Life magazine. Published in the Old Order Amish community of Aylmer Ontario but well know through out almost all Amish communities.
Written by and for the Amish, each issue contains quite a selection of stories that wives and mothers enjoy, as well as a section devoted to recipes, nature, children's stories, health, and an advice column. There are poems and puzzles sprinkled throughout. A fun publication that the whole family enjoys!
If you would like a chance to win a one year subscription of this magazine leave a comment telling me what your favorite kind of cookies are.
For an additional entry post a link to this giveaway on your blog and come back and leave another comment.
I will draw a winner on Monday March 14th using Random Generator.
Giveaway is now closed.
Disclaimer: The only compensation I get from doing this giveaway is the warm fuzzy feeling I get from knowing someone else will get to enjoy this publication.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite cookies are Oatmeal Raisin...yummy! ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what my favorite cookie is called. I've heard them referred to as Mexican Wedding Cakes, Russian Tea Cookies, and Snowballs. They have ground up nuts in the dough, and are rolled, twice, in confectioner's sugar after baking. They melt in your mouth and, in my opinion, are just yummy!
ReplyDeleteChocolate Chip with black walnuts in them! Also Dainty Strip...Not sure if that is the real name or not but they melt in your mouth. My great-aunt used to make them with a cookie press. About two inches or more long and little grooves and ridges running the length of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.

YUM! Now I think I have to go plan a cookie baking session! Karin
ReplyDeleteMmmm I am now so hungry for cookies! :-) If this were my husband I would say Chocolate chip all the way! HOWEVER I am not my husband! I think chocolate crinkles are my favorite -- so soft and chewy with the fun cracked top, from rolling them in powdered sugar before baking. I've heard many wonderful things about Family Life, and I think it's so kind of you to offer a lucky reader a subscription.

ReplyDeleteKristena
I'm a dark chocolate peanut butter chip girl! So yummy!
ReplyDeleteDefinately peanut butter with chocolate chips!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to go with monster cookies, although that's partly because my mom is gluten-sensitive. But because she's not that bad, she can still have regular oats, so we can enjoy monster cookies and still get our chocolate-peanut butter fix.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite are Ranger cookies. My husband loves cookies and is constantly asking for them after supper. His favorite are oatmeal raisin.
