Reading ... in the Bible, Luke.
In other books I'm caught in a stream of disappointing reads at the moment.
I read And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer by Fredrik Backman. A tiny book with a giant title.
I fear I went into this one with expectations that were set too high. Overall it was a sweet book about an old man facing memory loss. Did a tear or two well up as I read? No. And I almost feel guilty admitting that.
Then I read Seeking Persephone by Sarah M. Eden. It was set in England during the Regency era. It was not a book I will ever reread.
Arranged marriage ... okay, I can accept that.
The mmc has some bad scarring on his face because he was born with only a stub for his right ear and the doctor was sure if he dug around enough he could find the ear. Again ... I'll go with it.
Wolves kept showing up and finally got close enough that the fmc got hurt. A bacon scented saddle and horses were involved too. ... this I couldn't deal with knowing that wolves in England were extinct by the 15th century.
My teenage self would probably have enjoyed this book a great deal more than my current self did.
Watching ... some YouTube videos here and there.
Listening ... to random music. The girls and I were talking about how since everyone has their own life we rarely get to hear each other's music any longer like we used to.
To help remedy that Sharon created a little group chat and every day we each sent a link to a song we are currently enjoying listening to.
It's been one of the highlights of my days.
Wearing ... my favorite blue top with oversized polka dots..
Baking ... Steven and I got home from homeschool co-op today to find that Sharon had a chocolate cake waiting for us. It's been months since the last time there was a chocolate cake at our house, so tis quite the treat once again.
I've been baking dinner rolls semi regularly and last evening I made pepperoni rolls.
Cooking ... tonight I'm making Honey Pepper Chicken and a cheesy pasta. LV will eat pasta, but really doesn't enjoy it, so I'm taking the last two potatoes in the house and making seasoned potato wedges for him. A Greek salad will round out the meal.
Playing ... Lots of MtG. On Sunday an attempt was made to learn how to play Caverna. But with over 24 pages of game play instructions we came to the conclusion we would all rather do something other than learn how to play this game. It was packed up to be attempted at a later day after some YouTube tutorials have been watched and everyone feels bright eyed and bushy tailed.
Crafting ... getting a start on Christmas ... shhh.
Cleaning ... it's that time of year when I try to get the windows sparkling before the weather gets cold enough to prevent washing them on the outside.
Disliking ... when I open the refrigerator door and discover the lid on a container containing liquid wasn't on tight and spilled over two shelves and pooled in the vegetable drawer.
On the plus side, I have a clean refrigerator now.
Loving ... the absolutely beautiful fall weather we have been experiencing. Bright blue skies, puffy white clouds, and colorful leaves. There's something extra special about October.
