Picture my Week

This little guy turned up in our yard, Buddy was very excited about that. The dog has quite a voice and seems to be trying to communicate with us, judging by all the barking he does.

Our water pump decided to stop working and had to be fixed. Thankfully, other than the time it took, it was a relatively easy repair.

Buddy loves to pretend he's driving the tractor while Sailor works on a restoration project he has going in the garage.

Buddy also loves when he can convince Sunbeam to push him around in his little car.

A nest of bird eggs was discovered. It's a little late to be a robin's nest, and it is built basically on the ground, so we're intrigued and clueless.

  1. I enjoyed this weeks pictures but I think the eggs in the nest is my favorite! You captured that beautifully. I LOVE the color of the eggs. Please keep us up to date on the progress of the eggs!

    1. I love the color of those eggs too. We're thinking the mother bird abandoned them. Haven't seen anything of her.

There may be a reason the phrase 'bird brained' came to be.

  2. Beautiful Boston Terrier. Someone has to be heartbroken. Perhaps a local veterinarian can check to see if it as an ID microchip. Expensive dog.

  3. Looks exactly like a robin's nest to me. Sometimes they nest on the ground though not smart. Maybe she got a late start. We had one 3 years in a row try to build a nest on top of the garage door opener.

Did you find the dog's owner? What did the collar say? I didn't see a hanging tag but you can get collars that have flat "built in" ones. Did you check?

    1. Yes, the owner has the dog again. They don't keep him on a leash though so he's been here visiting again.

    2. No leash?? I would think they would worry about him...cars, bigger dogs, etc.

  4. I enjoy bird watching and was intrigued by your picture of the nest and eggs and wondered if birds other than robins laid blue eggs. Starlings do, and they are a bit larger than robin eggs.

I enjoy reading your blog- I've learned a lot from your wonderful writing.

  5. What a delightful week through pictures. You have a beautiful family. I was happy to read in the comments that the dog is home again, (in between visits to you). Beautiful nest.
    Blessings,
