Gray Hair

"I'm heading outside to read," she announced as she headed out the door.

On these warm afternoons I could see why reading in the shade of a tree and enjoying the breeze would seem appealing. I went about my work, not really thinking twice about her planned activity until I happened to look out the window and see a ladder by a tree, and Rosebud perched up in the branches on what appeared to me, to be a very slender limb.

Feet swinging in the air, a book on her lap, she appeared to be lost to all else around her.

My heart nearly stopped as I surveyed the distance from that spindly little branch she was sitting on and the ground beneath her.

The ladder was held securely in place while she made her way back down, and I went to check out my newly earned gray hair.

Bad drivers really stress me out. I was heading to town and as I was making my way up a hill I noticed a little blue car coming down one of the side streets. Paying zero attention to the stop sign the woman driver barreled right out in front of me. I came inches close to running right into her. So thankful for good brakes.

My poor heart nearly beat out of my chest, as I added a few more gray hair to my collection.

I would say that God was sending his angels to watch over you and Rosebud in both instances! Are we not blessed to have Him watching over us. p.s. Just remember: "Gray hair is a crown of splendor" Proverbs 16:31

Those scenarios would be enough to cause quite a few silver strands to appear on my head also! Learning permit drivers can also add to those strands. A cashier at a local store told me that's why we have access to hair color!! LOL

If those hairs could talk what tales they'd tell. ;O

I can see why you have a few more gray hairs after both of those experiences. Children have no concept of danger...but that driver needs a wake up call before someone real gets hurt!
Blessings,

Yes, I'm very thankful for God's protecting hand over our family.

I haven't availed myself to the hair color ... yet. So far I'm allowing my children to see the gray hair they have contributed. :)

That could be quite interesting!

The worst thing about that driver, was that her back seat was filled with wide eyed children who I can only assume were almost as terrified as I had been.

I had a car run a stop sign, pull out in front of me - and then turn left! I pressed so hard on the brake I practically needed new heels on my shoes. Even at that, I did hit the rear quarter panel of that car, and totaled mine in the process.
Fortunately, another driver who'd had to stop rolled down his window and gave me his name in case I needed a witness in court. I gave him my number and asked him to call The Squire. (This was pre-cell phone.)
Fortunately, my husband knew I was safe (thank God for seat belts!) but the woman in the other car had broken the windshield when she hit her head, and her husband was going to sue US for the accident.
He didn't.
