Time for a Giveaway

It's that time of year when the air holds the definite chill of fall. With it getting dark earlier, what could be more perfect than to curl up some place cozy with a good book. One of my favorite places over the years has been in front of our fireplace with a mug of hot chocolate.

I can't supply you with a cozy corner, and I'm pretty sure if I tried to send you a mug filled with hot chocolate it would spill before it got to you. But I can make that you have a good book to read.

'Amish Peace' by Suzanne Woods Fisher is filled with short stories from the Amish about memories, experiences, and faith. each chapter is followed by several thought provoking questions.

If you would like to have a copy of this book leave a comment telling me what is your favorite thing about fall. Be sure to make that I have someway of contacting you if are chosen as the winner.

For a second entry post a link to this giveaway on your blog or Facebook and then come back and leave another comment to let me know.

I will be using Random Generator to choose a winner on Saturday Oct 30th

Disclaimer: I am not being compensated for doing this giveaway for Suzanne Woods Fisher in any way except the warm happy feeling I get from being part of making that others get to enjoy this book too.

  9. My favorite thing about fall is the spirit of Thanksgiving that comes along with it. Of course I love the colors and the smells and brisk air coming in after a hot summer but I especially love how people get more friendly this time of year. With Thanksgiving and them moving towards Christmas, it restores hope in the humanrace. People seem to care more and to have more charity in their hearts.

  11. Looks like a beautiful book. Thanks for thinking of us.

What I love about fall are the days when it's sunny and the leaves are changing. The grass is dried up, but it smells sweet. Everything is sharp and clear and the sun is so warm that I can feel the heat pressing on my arms.

  12. My favorite thing about fall is reading out loud to my family. When it gets dark earlier, we seem to find time to read Laura Ingalls Wilder, Greek myths, Robert Louis Stevenson poetry, and animal tales by James Herriot. We do it all winter long, until the sun keeps us outside late again.

When fall gets here we all enjoy the changing of leaves, our wardrobe, pumpkin patches, fall festivals, etc. We know Thanksgiving is coming. A time for family and making memories. Fall was my daddy's favorite season too.

I'm not sure if your giveaway is open to people outside of America so if it isn't please feel free to pass over my comment :) Here in New Zealand we call fall Autumn. I like the chill that creeps into the air. It is always a welcome relief from the hot days of summer.

  32. Hmmm .. only one favorite thing about fall? Well, I guess it would have to be the leaves. Beautiful ones on the trees and crunchy ones on the ground (that I have to scuff through every year.) I also love to choose exceptionally pretty ones and dip them in parafin wax to use for decorations.

You can contact me if I win via my blog. Thanks!

  33. Favorite things - Crisp mornings; dew sparkling in the morning light; leaves crunching under foot; color everywhere from colorful leaves, hillsides turning green, breathtaking sunrises and sunsets; misty fog rising off the ponds; curling up with a hot cup of strong coffee while reading a good book; covering up with a quilt and watching the fire. I love the fall. Fall is a time of remembering; being thankful; taking it slow. Winter will soon be here with another kind of stark beauty. It's all been wonderfully created by God, the creator of everything, including you and me. We have much to be thankful for.

  51. Fall, this season reminds me of how before we are in Christ we are all full of ourselves and when we come to Christ everything dies and falls away and sometimes we need to take a season of deep sleep (spiritual) (winter) to arise in the fullness of Christ as we are being made new (Spring). I heard something like this in a song once and it just attuned with my spirit. I heard about "Amish Peace" and knew I needed to read it. Thank you for this opportunity. Blessings!

  63. Good Evening Sweet Friend...
Oh my gosh, I would love to have this book to read. I thank you for the wonderful opportunity. Any one of us will be so lucky.

Fall and what I love most. That is easy, I love the change in colors, and that nature goes to sleep for just a little while. I love that the air becomes crisp, and I absolutely love crawling into the sheets at night, and feeling the coolness against my skin. That is what I love most about Fall. And those memories for me come from over 25 years ago, because living in the desert in Phoenix, we don't really have Fall. We are still having hot, hotter and even hotter still days. I miss Oklahoma in the Fall.

Thank you so much for asking sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  71. The book sounds fascinating and I should very much like the opportunity to read it. For me, I enjoy this time of the year because it is a time to relax by the fire during the cooler evenings with a good book, watch the trees turn through their glorious colours with the promise of re-wakening in just a few months, the smell of wood-smoke and not feeling guilty about indulging my new found passion for patchwork/quilting.
