Bits of Random

    Our library has opened and is offering curbside service. For someone who was really missing our weekly visit to the library, you would think I'd be jumping up and down in excitement.
    Instead I am surprisingly unmotivated to go.
    I will be returning some books, and picking up the requests that had come in before this whole shutdown thing happened. But the desire to request more books simply is not there.
    I'm trying to figure out the why behind that.
~~~~~
    Spring keeps hanging on and warmer temperatures are reluctant to arrive, but that means I get to enjoy our spring flowers for longer than some years.
~~~~~
    I have started a monumental project. One that I simultaneously love and decidedly don't love. Strange how that works, isn't it?
   The project is creating an entire year of menus and ingredient checklists.
   That means 365 full meals.
   In addition to those 365 meals I'm also including 150 desserts, 225 breads, and 104 breakfasts.
   If you see me sometime during the next several weeks looking wild eyed and tired you can blame it on this project.
~~~~~
    I love my wind chimes. The rich, deep, melodic tones it produces when caressed by a breeze ... I'd say make me happy, but I'm already happy. Let's just say I really enjoy hearing it.
    Apparently a little chickadee does as well. It has taken to sitting on the sail as it sways in the breeze.
     One of these days I'll get a picture of it.
  1. I also love my wind chimes. I have two of them and they give me great joy. I am strangely reluctant to venturing out and about too. Our library is still closed but a few of my favorite crafts stores are now open so material for masks can be purchased. Normally I would be excited to visit but I'm really not and I'm not sure why either.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
    1. It seems this whole ordeal has put a different spin on the things we used to enjoy ... especially out and about.
  2. Maryann, when you say 365 suppers, do you mean each one will be different and none will appear twice? Same question for the desserts, breads, and breakfasts?
    1. My goal is having 365 different suppers. Though some food will make repeat appearances, no two meals will be exactly alike.
      Desserts, breads, and breakfasts though will all be different without any repeats.
  3. Oh wow! Good luck on getting all those recipes together.i'm afraid if I tried that, I wouldn’t be wanting what was on the menu for that day.
    1. The good thing is, I don't have to go through cooking everything in order if I don't want to.
  4. We received windchimes when my father in law passed away, we love listening to them. They're so soothing.
  6. Apprehension I would have thought, an underlying fear. I feel it too so I am thankful that we are still not allowed to go out as yet. That sounds like quite the project but a great achievement once its done.
  7. I agree with the others. After being home for so long, I'm perfectly happy to stay put. Our libraries are not open, although the governor has loosened some restrictions. I'm not thrilled with shopping online, to be honest. I had to purchase some stuff from Joann's, and not being able to 'finger the merchandise' was frustrating. I feel even more strongly about groceries.
    All of my adult life the paycheck has arrived every other week, and I've found it easier to shop if I have made up a menu for those two weeks. I may have Friday's dinner on Tuesday, but everything is there.
    1. That's how my menu creation and cooking of it goes as well. Everything is planned, and will be made, but I may mix up the days to actual cook my menu.
