Broken Hearted

On Saturday my life was forever changed when the phone call came to let us know my brother Mahlon had died.

We arrived home early this morning after attending his funeral yesterday. The reality of the finality of death seems to be sinking in hard right now, and I may need a few minutes to get back to regular blogging.

  7. I hope in healing time that good memories of growing up with Mahlon make you smile. God is so good to give us memories of loved ones to cherish.
I hope that walks in autumn's cool, crisp days also help to lift your spirits.
    In thought and prayer, Polly

  14. I'm so very sorry for your loss, Mary Ann. We will keep you in our prayers.

I read the story on your Facebook page and could not help wondering what we can do to prevent the same thing from happening to others. It's an epidemic of monumental proportions and brought on under the legality of a physician's right to treat patients as they choose while taking kickbacks from drug companies, but the time to fully trust in commercial medical guidelines is long since passed, I'm afraid. The medical field is no longer a heartfelt institution but a business that is unscrupulous far too often. I worked in a doctor's office and witnessed this firsthand, and that's the only reason I can say so. The new norm is: Patients, beware.
I don't doubt but there are many, many families that have been torn apart by following doctor's orders. It grieves me to my very soul because it was totally unnecessary.
I hope you are not offended by anything I've said. The only reason I've spoken out is in hopes it may help someone else to avoid the Big Pharma Drug Trap.
