Tuesday Introduction

Since the day I started with my little blog I have met many great people. But this morning it was pleasant surprise to find an email waiting for me from an old friend that I had lost contact with over the years.

Thanks to a blog post I did back in April she was able to find me. After exchanging several email Sue has generously allowed me to borrow a picture from her website where she shares her experiences of traveling across America with a horse and buggy and later a team of oxen.

Her website Horsehairs is filled with many great photos and short stories to go with them. Please visit her site I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

  5. How interesting!
Funny...I just posted an old timey picture of Paw and me in my side-bar! I had always wanted one made and we had it done in the Smoky Mountains.

  6. What an amazing story. I am going to go check her out.
I also liked the paperdolls. I remember when my girlfriend and I would play with them for hours too.
    Have a Blessed Thanksgiving.

  7. Can't wait to check out her site! The blogging world does connect people like that doesn't it? I heard Facebook does too, but I've yet to try it. I found out that Darcie's (above) husband and my husband both work for the same grocery chain but in different states - small world because it's not a huge chain. Thanks for introducing us to the new blog!! ♥

  8. I've enjoyed reading your blog - especially attracted to it because of my Amish heritage, and the fact that I've lived near Dundee, NY, your childhood home, for the past 17 plus years, and several years off and on before that. We personally know John Coffer - but never had the opportunity to meet Sue. Occasionally we stop to chat with him and see how things are going. I'm hoping to stop by before Christmas - I know my husband would appreciate owning one of John's tin-types. Thanks for sharing - I'd love to meet you in person sometime.

  9. What an incredible story; such determination and inventiveness. This couple surely has many stories to tell, and I'd love to read her book. You have interesting stories as well and I am always so glad I stopped in to read your latest post. Such a wonder, this world wide web! Thanks for telling us about John and Sue!
    XOXO
