Home Again

We are so happy to be able to say that we went from this.

To this.
It is sooo good to be home again. Sunbeam is still her sunny little self even though she can't be active. She was asking when she can walk again and trying to explain three months to a little girl is a hard job and eighty four days sounds like years to a five year old!
Thank you so much for all the prayers and kind thoughts. It really meant a lot to us over this time. We are so thankful to have our little girl on the road of recovery.

  1. HAPPY DAY!!!!!! She looks as adorable as ever. Maybe she could have a calendar and cross off each day until the special day when she can walk?? I bet she's going to heal lickety split and maybe her big sis can make some of her special cookies for her. I'm happy for you all ~

  2. She looks wonderful! It will be a challenge to keep her down, won't it, but what a blessing compared to what it might have been! You could have her make a paper chain out of construction paper and make it 84 links long, then she can tear one off each day and watch the chain shrink!

  4. What a welcome sight it is to see her sitting up and playing. I like Beth's comment above about letting her mark the days off the calendar. Maybe give her cute stickers or stars to cross off the days with. Bless you all during this time and thank God for answered prayer.

  9. Oh, my heart be still! Sunbeam is a precious sweetheart and Heavenly Father was sure watching out for her. I am so glad she will be alright. We will pray for a complete healing and a creative mom...:) With much gratitude for our Savior, again I say, I am so glad she will be O'kay.

    Bless your heart!

  11. How wonderful that she is home and in good spirits! She looks like she is well on the road to recovery. Perhaps you can create a calendar or paper chain, with "special days" marked on it for fun things like "decorate cookies", "read new book" or "make playdough" so she has little things to look forward to during the long 3 month stretch.

  14. Oh My goodness! I am just catching up on everyone's blogs and I read the story of how your little one ended up in the hospital. That would have been SO completely SCARY!!
I am so glad that she is doing well - what happy news!
    God Bless you all!

  15. Oh my! Like Cherie I am doing some catch up and had no idea Sunbeam had an accident. This sounds like the summer to have fun with crafts and all sorts of artistic endeavors!

So now when she is older, is sick or tired from a hard days work, she will be able to say, "I feel like I've been run over by a truck!" and she will actually know how that felt! Poor sweetie, I am thankful she is on the mend!

  19. I'm delighted Sunbeam is home. Being with you will lessen the time she has to wait before she walks.

  20. Glad to see that Sunbeam is sitting up and playing. My heart goes out to you and your Family. Here is a little activity that may be fun for her: Fill a jar with rice (or birdseed) and a few small objects (coins, tiny barrettes, small plastic animals, shiny beads, etc..) She can shake the jar to find and name all the treasures. (Tell her how many objects are in the jar so she can count and find them all.)

  23. I'm so glad to hear she's home. Three months is a long time for a little girl, but I'm sure the family will all work together to think of fun crafts and activities to keep her busy.

  26. So glad I came in late and found out the happy ending first. This must have been terrifying for everyone. Thank God she is okay...you, her father or the driver may never be okay again but at least your little sunbeam will recover. I am so happy.
