The tree in front of our house has lost most of its leaves and Sunbeam and Buddy have been enjoying playing in the pile that has gathered around the trunk.
He turns to run away with shrieks of laughter as she bounds out of the leaves after him.
Moments like this make me wish I was a child again.
Our grandkids loved to play this game. Now, it's our dog who tunnels under the leaves and comes bounding out.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the Midwest where we had LOTS of maple trees. I can still remember the smell of the leaves when playing in them. Such fun! Here in the mountains of the Northwest it's more evergreens and although I don't miss raking, I do miss the smells of autumn from my childhood.

ReplyDeleteGrowing up, I had 4 maple trees in the front yard! You can imagine the fun with the neighborhood kids :-) When my husband and I bought our first house (kids were little) we found one with 7 maple trees..!!!! The neighborhood collected at our house for our "Falling Leaves" party every year!
