In celebration that A New Home for Lily has released I decided to have a giveaway.
Today we'll be doing things a little differently. The following two pictures are things that Lily received in book one, Life with Lily.
The first person to correctly tell me when she got the lamp and the apple shaped candy dish will receive a signed copy of Life with Lily and A New Home for Lily
If you haven't read the first book or can't remember the occasions when she received these simply leave a comment telling me one of the favorite gifts you received as a child and you will be entered for a chance to win A New Home for Lily.
For an additional entry, post a link to this giveaway on your blog or Facebook, then come back and leave another comment telling me you did.
I will be choosing the winners on Monday January 28th.
Giveaway is now closed and a winner has been chosen.
Ahhhhh, I'm drawing a blank!!!! I'm still going to try and remember and be the first one. I do remember my favorite gift when I was little - a pair of go-go boots when I was five. I know, crazy right??
ReplyDeleteI remember the apple bowl was from a Christmas gift exchange at school. It had candy and smarties in it. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what the answer is but I remember my Mom had an apple just like your picture when I was a little girl. My favorite gift as a child were little cast pots and pans from an older women up the street. I still have them today.
ReplyDeleteLily picked out the lamp when she went shopping with her grandma and her grandma gave her some money to spend. (Was this maybe in KY when she went to visit her family there?).
ReplyDeleteI'm reading the second book now (loving it by the way) and I think I want to take notes! LOL Have a great weekend ~
I have the book on my tbr pile, hopefully in the next month or so. Would certainly like to follow it up with the new book, thank you.

ReplyDeleteI got a beautiful life sized doll that would walk beside me. Don't remember the brand name for her. She was my prized possession at that time.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on this second Lily book, Mary Ann and Suzanne! I posted a review and link to your site on my blog.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new book. I received a little doll from my brothers and my mom gave me a little suitcase filled with homemade doll clothes for it.
ReplyDeleteI havent been able to read the book, sadly.
ReplyDeleteOne of my most treasured gifts was a blue party dress that my mother had made me.
I haven't read it either. One of my favorite gifts was a Shirley Temple doll when I was 5.
ReplyDeleteI have not read the books, but would love to. The best gift I received as a child was a french horn. I still have it!
ReplyDeleteI also haven't gotten to read the books yet, but I would like to sometime! My favorite gift was a "newborn" baby with a cloth body but rubber/plastic head, arms, and legs. She looked like a perfect baby and I loved her very much. I used to spend time admiring her "perfect" fingers and toes ~ just like a real mother. One of my own children looked similar to that doll soon after birth and it brought back memories. I still admire my babies little perfect fingers and toes. :)
ReplyDeletelove to win your book thank
ReplyDeleteOh we loved the first book my children just loved it being read aloud to them. We also gave one of these for my neice for Christmas as well.
ReplyDeleteShe got the apple shaped candy bowel in the gift exchange at school for Christmas. It was from Hannah and it had some homemade chocolates and some smarties as well. She also got a paint by number set.
The little oil lamp was from the money she got the day her Grandma took her shopping when they visited her in Kentucky
We look forward to reading this new book.
Will there be more coming after this one?
Well, I've never read the book...but really want to.
ReplyDeleteBut I think one of my favorite gifts as a child was the small stuffed duck I got when I was four, and still have to this day :)
One of my favorite gifts when I was a child was a pink huffy bike my parents left under the Christmas tree. We never had huge Christmas gifts, so that morning is particularly memorable to me :)
ReplyDeleteI also have not read the book, I am going to go search for it on ebay :-) Favorite gift was a little AM/FM radio with a cassette player. I was THRILLED to get it.

I haven't read the book yet, which is why I want to win this! I actually used to collect little oil lamps when I was a kid and I remember one looking just like the one in the picture. Thanks for the opportunity! imscotts _ love at yahoo dot com

I haven't yet bought the book to read, but my favorite or at least most memorable gift, I think, was a pair of navy blue gloves with Bugs Bunny screen-printed on them from my teenage cousin Johnny when I was about 4-5 years old. He was about 13=14 years older than me and was the 1st cousin I met after my mom married his uncle when I was 3 years old.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite Christmas gifts was a small kitchen set with tiny fake food.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn
I, too, have never read the story...so...
ReplyDeletea favorite gift I received as a kid was a small puppet set with finger puppets ;)
I would love to read your books! One of my favorite gifts as a child was for my 12th birthday, my mom gave me a heart shaped candle holder with a lavender/purple candle ring. :-)

Life with Lily was a cute book and I enjoyed reading it. Hoping my library gets A Home for Lily but right now I do not see it listed at the library. Lily bought the lamp when she was visiting her grandparents and was shopping with her grandmother. She got the apple candy dish from another student at school for a Christmas gift exchange.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the release of the second book!

I haven't read the book yet, but my favorite gift as a kid, was my first watch. I got it for Christmas in the second grade. I drove my family nuts that day, by constantly telling people what time it was.
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read this book! My favorite gift as a child would be my skip-it! I had so much fun with that thing! Thanks for the chance to win this book & God Bless!'
