I love to sit on a soft comfortable surface when reading. But sometimes I read when I put the younger ones down for a nap. So that's usually in my rocking chair. It's made of wood, it doesn't have a cushion, but it's so comfortable (for a wooden rocking chair).
ReplyDeleteMy favourite place is the recliner sitting in the bay window of the lounge. It catches the light and I can see enough of the street to be interesting but not so much that I'm distracted!

ReplyDeleteI only read when I go to bed.This is possibly due to the fact that I know there's a pair of reading glasses there.I'm not very good at keeping them safe otherwise!!!LOL!

My favorite place to read would be anywhere quiet. So that would be either in the bedroom or sitting out on the back porch with a lemonade or glass of iced tea in hand and my book in the other.
ReplyDeleteI am so thrilled about this give-a-way! I LOVE reading Amish books (be it in paper form or online) I have always been facinated by their way of life and their dependence on the LORD. I admit, not everything do I agree with but there are many things that the Christian sect can glean from the Amish culture.

ReplyDeleteI have two fav places to read, depending on how warm/cold it is outside. For cold days is in the kitchen with the cook stove keeping the room toasty. For warm days, it would be on the front porch.

ReplyDeletemy favorite spot is a big overstuffed chair in my bedroom- pull it up close to the foot of the bed and prop my feet on the bed! I spend a lot of time on buses, though, and do most of my reading in ordinary and boring bus seats!

Currently...on the patio soaking in the Arizona winter sun. Seeps right into my bones and relaxes me. In the summer I read under a ceiling fan!!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place to read is in the tub while having a nice warm bubble bath.It's quiet and nobody distracts me in the bathroom. I put a board over the edges of the tub and prop my book up and I'm ready to go.

My favorite place to read during the summer is on our screened in porch ... I love listening to the birds and the wind chimes while I revel in a good book. However living on the East Coast I cannot sit outside during the winter, so when the air turns cold I love just curling up on my living room couch next to the heater and reading. Just outside my bird feeders hang so I can glance up and see the birds squabbling over sunflower seeds. A small table with a lamp sits close by with plenty of room for a cup of tea or hot chocolate. Ahhh, bliss.

I grew up with a huge weeping willow tree in my yard. I loved to read under that tree. Nowadays I mostly read in my car while waiting for my daughter at therapy and dr. appts. It doesn't matter though, I love to read!
