Occasionally I like to share a book I really enjoyed reading with you. Today that book is The Haven by Suzanne Woods Fisher. I don't get to read as many books as I used to but when I picked up this one I was hooked from the very first page and thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. When I turned the last page it felt as if I was saying good-bye to a good friend.

ReplyDeletePerfect day? To take a picnic, drive to our nearest Nationa Trust property and have a wander in the beautiful garden, sit under a tree and have a picnic, then maybe buy an ice cream to finish!
My perfect day is a day that is cool (not cold) and spent with my hubby on our farm with our animals. A little reading time in there would be nice too, cause I don't get to do that near often enough anymore. LOL Oh...and nothing pressing that needs done would be nice too. We just moved and there is still a LOT to be done to get our farm ready for winter.

A day spent shared with family or friends, no matter the weather or what we are doing, is the ideal day for me.

ReplyDeleteHaving the house all to my self, waking up when I wake up on my own, sewing/quilting part of the day, having a nice meal with seafood and lots of veggies, crawling in bed a reading a great book.

ReplyDeleteMy idea of a perfect day is simply being together as a family - laughing and playing together without any electronics or other distractions, including the telephone/cell phone.
ReplyDeletePerfect days seem to happen organically around here. Occasionally we'll all wake up in wonderful moods, the sun will be shining but not too hot, we'll do a few mundane things we really love, and we'll laugh and enjoy each others' company. If we go to bed saying, "Ahh, that was fun" instead of "Aaa! Glad that's over" it was a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day starts with waking up next to my hubby, going out for breakfast, going for a nice long scenic drive, stopping at a cute little diner for a sandwich and a cup of soup, then traveling home and ordering pizza. Basically, a day without me having to cook...which is probably really lazy sounding, but oh does it sound nice! lol

Spending a whole day walking through a historic town, like Boston (the historic section) or Savannah, in mostly sunny, seventy degree weather and enjoying the sights. Wind it up with supper in a local (not a chain) restaurant (naturally, I'd have breakfast and lunch, too, but those could maybe be from hardee's and burger king, lol).
ReplyDeleteIn September we are going to Disney World with my daughters and their families. I can't wait to see my granddaughters, who are 5 and 3, faces when they see Cinderella's castle for the first time in the Magic Kingdom. Their reactions to WDW will be priceless. It will be such a perfect day.

ReplyDeleteMy perfect day would of course be spent with my husband and four children. I think it would be spent on a beach somewhere where the water was crystal clear so we could enjoy looking at all the beautiful sea life!

ReplyDeleteA perfect day for me is to sit and scrapbook, or to be able to sit and veg out by reading or watching a movie. The second one is my ideal day during the school year.
ReplyDeleteA perfect day for me would be to have a day to do whatever I wished, reading, sewing, crocheting, with no phone calls or unexpected duties. Having the food already prepared would be another plus!

A perfect day for me would be in a small lakeside cabin where I grew up in upstate NY, my cats around me and a good thick new book to read outside on the sunlit deck.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day is spending the day hanging out (whether on vacation or a regular Saturday) with my husband and wonderful children laughing and having a good time. Nothing else like it!
ReplyDeleteMy idea of a perfect day would be a rainy, gray, cold day where my house was spotless and my Handsome was really craving pizza so that I could sit around and read all day, cuddle my baby, and feed my Handsome without having to leave the couch. There would also be some delicious cafe mocha involved, and probably ice cream.
ReplyDeletemy perfect day would involve the beaches of Lake Superior (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), a good book, and a nice cold glass of ice tea....and my husband keeping my son occupied so I can actually READ that book!

ReplyDeleteMy perfect day would be cool and sunny,with the doors and windows open to the breezes. My kids would call and my husband would bring home dinner.
ReplyDeleteI'd be home with a fire in the fireplace, it would snowing but not icy out, I'd be cross-stitching on the couch and watching a favorite movie. Then my husband would call and say, "I'm bringing home supper!"
ReplyDeleteMy favorite day would be sunny, breezy, all the windows open in the house, laundry on the line, and my family close by. Nothing scheduled--just home time. That's actually what today has been for me!

ReplyDeleteI can think of a great day - but I'm not sure about a *perfect* one! No pain, not too cool, not too hot, lots of family and friends and good food. Horses would be involved, and a beautiful view.
My perfect day would include time outside. It doesn't matter too much what I'm doing. Just get me out of the house. And top off the day with a bowl of ice cream.
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day would include taking my son with me to New Hope School in the slums of Kolkata India to teach the children there that Jesus love them! Yes, it would include alot of sweat, but oh the joy of sharing Christ with the least of these!

ReplyDeleteMy idea of a really fantastic day would happen in Autumn when the air is crisp and the trees are all colorful. It would be cool enough to wear a sweater and I'd carry a warm mug of coffee around with me. Maybe we'd go apple picking as a family, or hiking, and then come home to enjoy warm apple cider and a fresh apple pie. Dinner would take no time to prepare, my toddler would have a perfect nap and we would just totally enjoy each other's company for the rest of the evening :)
ReplyDeleteMy perfect day involves waking up..It does not matter if it's sunny, rain or snow...cleaning my home....I am fortunate to have a roof over my head...making breakfast...god provided for me again...and spending the day with my husband and kids...It can be as simple as doing all of those things together and sitting down for dinner to talk about our day..It really does not take much to make me happy.
