Happy Mother's Day, Mom. I wish I could take a walk out to the woods and gather a bouquet of wild flowers and ferns for you like I used to years ago. You used to like them so much. You never stayed in bed long enough that we could fix breakfast for you, but you were the happiest when you were taking care of your family.
Thank-you Mom for everything that you did for me. You gave me a love for so many things in life. You taught me the importance of family. You always made sure Daddy and us children's plates were filled before you filled your plate. You were always looking for ways to make things nice for your family. Even when we were really poor we never heard you complain as you improvised and kept us all happy and healthy.
You were there with Daddy helping and supporting him as he started a woodworking business so he could be at home with his growing family. It was your encouragement and positive outlook that helped him make his dreams of having a large successful business come true.
Thank-you Mom for teaching me how to work and enjoy what I'm doing. Thank-you for giving me a love for singing. Sometimes when I close my eyes I can still hear your sweet voice as you sang while working. I miss the way we used to sit in the sewing room during the winter and spend hours singing, sewing and visiting.
Thank-you for spending all your time with us whether it was working or playing. You never had any hobbies. The joy of your life was your family.
Thank-you for teaching me how to skip. I remember how fun it was holding your hand and skipping through our new house to go make the beds every morning after breakfast.
Thank-you Mom for everything. I love and miss you so much! Happy Mothers Day!
