Every once in a while I have a day where I like to focus on the many things around me that I enjoy.
Up first... my happy helpers. Life would be really dull without our three children.
The little snow fort that Sailor is building in our front yard. He has to walk quite a distance from his building project to the drift where he fills the dish pan with snow to make cubes to place on the walls.
Our kitchen.... happens to be the favorite room in the house.
Good music.
Pretty flowers.
So many simple things that make life a sweeter place.
I love this post. There are so many simple things that makes life a sweeter place. :)
ReplyDeleteJudging by your kitchen you live in a manufactured home (mobile home)? Hubby and I lived in one for the first 4 years of our marriage. It was a sweet singlewide. I often have dreams we move back into it. When we were looking at moving to VA, I found a doublewide on a foundation that was GORGEOUS! The master bathroom was HUGE and had this big ol' whirlpool tub in it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had to choose an odd career, I'd design single and double wide homes and work with people on decorating and storage for them.
Thanks for visiting my site. I'm not familiar with the book you mentioned, but I'll look it up.
ReplyDeleteThe photo of your snowfort brought back childhood memories of toboggans and ice skates. Don't get to do that here in Florida! Stay warm*
I really loved this post. You chose one of my favorite songs.
ReplyDeleteLove all the helpers. Look no fighting going on! My laptop is in the kitchen too. I can't get wireless connection in my office. Probably God's way of keeping me still in the center of the family.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your post. Simple Things I like that... so much we take for granted. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteuntil next time... nel
As always, sweet friend, your write is wonderful & inspiring. The children are precious doing the chores ... & such an industrious Sailor. Awwww for the life of a child.
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, TTFN ~Marydon
I love your kitchen, I miss my lil helpers around the house. That is quite a fort your son is building I would love to see it when finished :o)
ReplyDeleteWow...I'm very impressed with Sailor's snow fort! That's fabulous! I love the pic of your little helpers!

This is an awesome post. Simple things make me happy too. Children and their creativity...priceless.
ReplyDeleteWonderful post! I'm wondering how in the world you get your kids to do the dishes! Mine don't even want to unload the dishwasher.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Angela
I have to agree that simple things do make life so sweet! And the kitchen is definately the heart of the home.
ReplyDeleteI spy your computer there!!
That pic of you little helpers is just precious. Where would we be without the little things to remind us to be thankful?
ReplyDeleteYa'll have a terrifically blessed day!!!
Yes, the kitchen is the heart of the home. And those three kids at the sink -- adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe fact that you stop and enjoy the everyday simple things sets such a great example to your "little helpers" because they'll learn to appreciate all the gifts around them as well, big and small. I don't know why I had never heard that song, but I hadn't and I love it!! Thanks for sharing your sweetness ~ ♥
ReplyDeleteIt's so sweet to see how your 3 little helpers are doing the dishwashing chore... with what appear to me as being in a pretty good mood. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to have them to help and learn that every little chore, little work is important and brings pride and happiness too! Congratulation for this choice of favourite things in you life! I agree with these values! Family, God, loving eachother and Faith in Christ the Savior! The song and the music almost brought tears in my eyes! :) Thanks for sharing! Take great care!
Thank you SO much for sharing this song with us. I am going to try to find it so I can add it to my play list. The love the pictures of the children..how precious. Reminded me of the video I did with my daycare children yesterday...I love my kitchen also...blessings sweet sister.
ReplyDelete~Wow! Those long braids on the little one. Sooo beautiful. And I love the little matching dresses. Reminds me of how I dressed our girls when they were young.
ReplyDelete~A friend gave us a plaque for Christmas that says "Home is where your story begins." That sizes it up for me!
Fondly,
Joanne
The picture of your children helping do the dishes is precious. :)

ReplyDeleteLovely kids, kitchen, and flowers! My little kitchen is my favorite room in the house too.
ReplyDeleteGlad I found you today. Thanks for visiting me!
I think it's wonderful that your kids help; I gave mine dishrags and mops right from the womb (just kidding).
ReplyDeleteAnd "Before the Throne of God Above" is one of my all time fav songs--how did you know?
Beautiful post!
