February was an interesting month for us. We got a lot of things done, had lots of friends visit, and had moments that I'm sure we will remember for the rest of our life.
In the middle of everything that was going on we managed to make two items from the lists of goals the girls and I had created at the beginning of the year.
Up first was an apron that Rosebud wanted. She thinks housework is a lot more enjoyable while wearing an apron. I may have to make one for me to test out her theory.
We tried our hand at making cannoli yesterday. They were easy enough to make even though they were time consuming. We were happy with the end results.
March is just around the corner and we're already looking forward to trying our hand at making some new things then.
Like the apron you've made! I always use one with cooking and sometimes with cleaning too. Love them!
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of wearing aprons. I like seeing pretty ones. I guess I should make myself one.

ReplyDeleteRosebud's apron is beautiful. I wear one often when cooking, especially baking, but never seem to remember to put one on to clean. The cannoli looks delicious. I've never made them because they always seemed rather difficult. I hope your weekend is a good one.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Cannoli are actually quite a bit easier than I thought they might be. I don't see us making them very often though because it took almost four hours from start to finish.
DeleteLove the cherry print fabric on that apron! t looks as if Rosebud is growing into quite a young lady; they do that when you're not watching.
ReplyDeleteI am very fond of cannoli, so will have to try my hand at making them.
I thought the cherry fabric is very cheerful and apron-ish. :) She picked it out and sewed it herself. I helped a little with the pattern etc, but otherwise it was her project.
DeleteOh, this apron is so cute. It looks like Mary Egelbreit. My daughter wanted one but I haven't found a cute one to get her yet. The cannoli looks simply delicious.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend.

The cannoli actually tasted as good as it looked. :)
DeleteThe apron is adorable! My daughter made me one. Thank you for the reminder that I do need to be wearing it more. I think it will definitely make housework become more enjoyable because I will wear it knowing that she made it for me. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour cannolis look amazing! I am an Italian girl who grew up in South Philadelphia, so we indulged in cannolis (still do!) on special occasions. Would you please share your recipe? I have never tried to make them. I know my daughter would love to do that with me. Have a blessed weekend!
I can't think of a better reason to wear an apron! I probably would too if my daughters made one for me.
DeleteI'll go ahead and share the recipe sometime next week.
What a sweet apron and the cannoli (I have never tried to make any) look yummy!
ReplyDeleteThis was the first time we tried making any. In fact it was the first time we even tasted one. We were pleased that it turned out nice.
DeleteI would love to have your cannoli recipe! And I tend to agree with Rosebud about the aprons.
ReplyDeleteWatch for it next week.

ReplyDeleteI don't know about more enjoyable, but I feel more homemakery in an apron!
ReplyDeleteThis weekend, I've been hand quilting a quilt top that my husband's grandmother made.
Be blessed!

Hand quilted quilts are the best. How sweet that you get to quilt one that your husband's grandmother made.
DeleteThe apron is cute, and the cannolis look scrumptious! I saw in the above comments that you're planning to post the recipe soon. I'm looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI have to say I'm with Rosebud... I LOVE wearing an apron and oftentimes just leave mine on long after the cooking is done. Yours is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that Cannoli! Oh My Goodness!!! How mouth wateringly lovely :-)
Happy Day to You,
Danette
I may have to go through my fabric stash and see if I can make a pretty apron for me.
DeleteI never wear an apron. Maybe my cooking would be better if I did. Should try it I guess. I do sometimes change into older clothes before I start supper. )) the cannoli look delicious.
ReplyDeleteThe apron is lovely. But where did February disappear?

What a pretty apron! I wear one every time I walk into my kitchen so I always love to see a beautiful hand made one like yours! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHow pretty the apron is -- love the colors! Your canoli look store-bought -- great job!
