I'm going with run like the wind. I'm in the process of potty training Buddy and have, more times than I can count, uttered the phrase "run like the wind, my boy, run like the wind" as we head to another session in hopes we get there in time.
2. Your favorite green food? Your favorite dish made with your favorite green food?
Broccoli. I love it steamed or roasted and as a special treat a broccoli grape salad is always a hit.
3. Ever been locked out of your home-car-office-anywhere? Do tell!
I was locked out of our house several years ago and ended up removing the screen from a window and climbing inside to unlock the door.
4. Yoda, Kermit, Shrek, The Wicked Witch of the West, Oscar the Grouch, The Grinch, or Mike Wasowski (Monsters Inc.)...of the green characters listed, which one's your favorite and why?
The Grinch, not a fan of him, but he's the only one I know anything about.
5. "The first task of a leader is to keep hope alive."~Joe Batten Do you agree? Why or why not?
I agree. Much can be accomplished when a spirit of hope is present.
6. Share a favorite song with an emotion in it's title.
The first song that comes to mind used to be one of my favorites as a child. If You're Happy and You Know It
7. What's a road trip you'd like to take?
A road trip we are planning to take someday is driving up along the east coast stopping at various points of interest along the way with our goal of visiting Acadia.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Sailor can get quite creative in the kitchen. He prepares lunch several times a week. This was his latest offering.
I'm so happy he has an interest in food other than just eating.
That sure looks like a tasty lunch to me! Whenever someone takes over the cooking for me, I'm thrilled!
ReplyDeleteI love the potty training story. That is so cute!!! And a road trip along the east coast to Acadia sounds wonderful. That's interested me ever since I was a kid and read Evangeline.
ReplyDeleteI am reading a book now that take place in Acadia. Funny, I was drawing a blank for a song and asked my daughter for a suggestion and she said
ReplyDelete"If You're Happy and You Know It"!!
Lunch looks delicious!! And now I've got that song stuck in my head, and it will probably be there all day....thanks a lot! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe lunch looks good.
ReplyDeleteI used to sing that song, too! And now I will be humming all day long (could be worse!). Lunch looks good, but I don't care for ketchup on my scrambled eggs. Love your Hodgepodge!!
ReplyDeleteBroccoli grape salad...now that is NEW to me?!!! Sometime soon, I hope you'll share the recipe?
ReplyDeleteLoved your answer to number 1, lol. My daughter just recently got her 2 year old trained and that would have been such a good one for her too. Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteIt's been quite a while since my days of potty training, but I, occasionally, get to relive them through the grandchildren :) It's such a feeling of accomplishment when they're successful, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMy grandson loves the song "if you're happy and you know it" as well as "The wheels on the bus" and I love singing it with him.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to make that road trip. I think Acadia is one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
ReplyDeleteBroccoli salad is one of my all time favorites. I make it a lot for pot lucks, luncheons, etc. at church. Loved the potty training story too. Please let us know how your Aunt Vernie is doing when you get a chance.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
How cute, run like the wind! I'll take the Broccoli Salad but without the grapes. :o))) Thanks for stopping by, always a pleasure to stop by your blog. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteLove that "run like the wind!" :) Good luck with the potty training.
ReplyDeleteMy parents once took a road trip from South Carolina to Maine. My father especially loved Acadia.
ReplyDeleteWe sing that song with our Sparks group in AWANA--they love to stomp and shout "Amen." And your lunch looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
I hope someday you will give Monsters, Inc a try. It's really pretty darling.
ReplyDeleteIm glad we share the same love for baseball. Who is your team?
ReplyDeletei also like brocolli raw or cooked! ;)
Lol on the potty training!! :) I never knew you could have broccoli in a salad.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite green character would be Kermit, Kermit the Frog. He's pretty cool, and he reminds me of my dad.
ReplyDelete:0)
My favorite green character is Kermit - or maybe Shrek.
ReplyDeleteI once slammed my car door while I was getting gas, and locked my purse and cell phone in the car. I had to borrow a phone from another customer and call The Squire to come get me. Fortunately, I had already paid for the gas with my debit card.
I've locked myself out of the house more times than I can count! We have a key hidden in a fairly obvious place, but it's the key to the barn, and finding the house key in the clutter of the barn will keep you busy for a while!
I like broccoli too, steamed with melted cheddar cheese sauce. The trip along the east coast sounds like fun too. Good luck with the "run like the wind" drills.
ReplyDeleteYes we must have Hope! Sounds like a nice road trip. That plate looks yummy......
ReplyDeleteI love broccoli too but there's the thing with too much of a good thing. I'm slowing down on broccoli and going with spinach now. It's sorta like a cycle :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE ketchup on my scrambled eggs! That picture made me hungry!
ReplyDeleteOh I remember those potty training mad dashes!!!! Hold it, hold it, hold it!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love juicing my spinach! your food looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteYour story intrigues me. I know nothing really about the Amish, other than what Hollywood gives us in the movies. Delighted to learn more.
