Wednesday Hodgepodge
Since everything hinges on love, I have to say the rule that should never be broken is to love God with all our heart and our neighbors as our self. If that rule is followed it takes care of everything.
2. What's your favorite family recipe?
We have so many recipes we love that I'm not sure I can pick a favorite. With Thanksgiving just around the corner I think I'll choose the pudding Mom used to make every year.
3. Is the media manipulative?
From what I have observed. Yes.
4. Joyce and her husband saw Skyfall last weekend...are you a fan of the Bond films? If so, who's your favorite Bond?
I don't think I have ever seen a Bond film so I can't choose a favorite.
5. What is one thing you hope people never say about you?
That I'm phony and selfish.
6. What's a nearby tourist attraction you'd like to see, but haven't gotten around to visiting?
There are so many attractions nearby that we would like to visit someday. Falling Waters designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Kennywood, and the lesser known but something that has fascinated me for a long time already; Gravity Hill.
7. Where's your favorite tree?
I love pine trees. I like how they lend a beautiful splash of color when everything else is drab. I love hearing them whisper when the breeze blows through them and how their whispering turns to whistling during the heartless winter winds.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
There are times when I wonder what happened with good old common sense. We are still trying to get Buddy's last name straightened out. The birth certificate has been taken care of but SS is quite another story.
All this because the person that filled out the forms after he was born added the last name of a baby that had been born only a few hours earlier. Their mistake, but our problem that we have now been dealing with for close to a year.
I think I'm probably the only one who doesn't care much for pine trees. We had tons of them in Arkansas and they dropped needles everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI've been trying to visit Falling Waters for years as well. Maybe we'll run into each other there one day!
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-law had similiar problems with his BC and SS because his foster family tried to adopt him.
ReplyDeleteWhat is gravity hill? I have never heard of it! Hopped over from the Hodgepodge.

I finished your book! I love Lily Lapp! I am eagerly awaiting the new book! Wonderful job!
ReplyDeleteI'm just visiting from Hodgepodge....I think Im gonna follow your blog.. I am interested in your story. blessings
ReplyDeleteYour answer for #1 is so true! If we truly love God, then every other aspect of our lives will follow His guidance and life is beautiful no matter the circumstances. :)
ReplyDeleteI always loved going to Gravity Hill (the one in Bedford County) when my children were little. I was such fun to watch them be amazed at how it works (it was fun for us also lol) I can't wait until my granddaughter is old enough to take there!
ReplyDeleteUGHHH - so sorry everything is still messed up with Buddy's legal stuff. Did you ever think your son would have legal problems at only a year old?? HA HA But really I know it's not funny and very frustrating. Have a good week ~
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been dealing with a baby's legal stuff for this long. Hard to imagine that a baby has legal things to deal with, though, even when it's not his fault!
ReplyDeletePine trees are beautiful and they smell so great. They remind me of home. You wrote about them beautifully! I hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe have a friend who is trying to refinance her house, and is having trouble because her name is so long the last letter is missing from her SS card. The bank's known her for years, and is still giving her fits.
