Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. What's the last thing you did that someone else thought was super?

It's nice having a five year old. He thinks pretty much everything I do is super.

2. The last thing you ate that tasted superb?

Home made chicken noodle soup. I know that sounds simple and not very impressive, but there is a reason that became the go to soup when someone is a bit under the weather.

3. Supersensitive, superstitious, superwoman, superambitious, supercilious, supervisor, superficial...pick a super word from the list and tell us how it relates to your life in some way recently or currently.

Superambitious. I have too much on my plate right now, and no one to blame but myself. I signed up to teach a class every Friday. It's not that hard at all, but it does require prep work and planning. I'm trying to meet certain word goals every day. My daily to-do lists look interesting, but really, even with the whirlwind I find myself caught up in, I am enjoying life a lot.

4. Do you love easily? If you're comfortable doing so, explain why you think that is.

I think I do. I'm more the type where I view strangers as friends I haven't met yet.

5. Valentine's Day lands on a Tuesday this year. Will you mark the day in some way? If you're celebrating with a dinner out somewhere will it be on Tuesday or will you celebrate over the weekend?

The girls have planned a Valentine's Day celebration. I don't know exactly what all that entails, but I am looking forward to finding out.

6. What's something you are loving right now?

My favorite pen and my idea book. It's a binder filled with pages of story plots, menus, lists, hopes, dreams, plans, and more. I keep it nearby at all times except when I leave the house. I carry a small notebook in my purse to use when inspiration strikes and then transfer the things into my idea book later.

7 Write a three word (or less) phrase you'd like to see on a Valentine candy heart.

♥ Forever

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I've been keeping my eyes open for the annual sign up list for the April A-Z Challenge. It was announced earlier this week that the challenge will happen, but there won't be a sign up list. I was a little disappointed about that, but I'm still planning to participate. It's time I start thinking, planning, and prepping for it. If you have any suggestions for what you would enjoy reading, let me know.

  1. I keep thinking how I'd love to try the A-Z Challenge, but it seems a bit daunting to me. Homemade chicken noodle soup is a favorite of mine...any time!

    1. The A-Z Challenge can be a bit daunting. I find that it helps to have things planned beforehand and even write up some posts in advance.

  2. Oh, I like your conversation heart idea. Your idea book sounds wonderful!

What is your favorite pen? I always have trouble finding a pen that I really like.

  3. #1 made me smile. I love your idea book - I'm always jotting things down here and there, I should combine them into one place - an idea book! I'm looking forward to the A to Z as well although when I heard about the new system, I was a little disappointed too. I really liked the categories idea - I enjoyed reading other Lifestyle blogs but some of the other categories just didn't interest me. It's a new system for all of us so the organizers will no doubt take the feedback when it's over and decide what to do for next year. Now, to come up with a theme!

  5. I kind of like the idea of linking daily to the A-Z, but some years that wouldn't have worked for me. If you schedule posts due to out of town travel it might not be possible to link to the site each day. I get that it's a lot of work though, so I understand their thinking. Now to figure out what to write about! Enjoy your surprise Valentine celebration : )

    1. I like the idea of being able to easily find the blogs that have updated. It will just be a little more to do to have to link up everyday. Who knows though. We might end up liking this better.

    1. I enjoy getting to know other bloggers better!

I'm trying to cherish all these moments with the children. I'm beginning to grasp just how fast time is slipping by.

  11. I would love Amish recipes in the a-z

  12. I would enjoy reading an A-Z of your ideas from that idea book. That way the topics can be varied and nice surprise reads daily. Your hopes, dreams, menus, etc. would be inspirational. Just a thought.

  13. No chicken noodle here, but I make a mean pot of butternut squash soup. Our church has soup suppers every Wednesday during Lent, and everybody wants me to bring that one week.

My favorite pen is a Parker fountain pen that belonged to my dad. We are/were both left-handed, and it's nice to have a pen nobody else can use! Besides, I think fountain pens are classy. That's me - classy as all get-out!

    1. I have already made the vegetarian noodle soup. It turned out delicious!

I'm sure Rosie Mae would love having a fountain pen. She loves anything that seems more charming than today's options.
